Indonesia, Finland Agree on Renewal of Biomass Cooperation

Jakarta, Irfan Translator Pro- Indonesia and Finland have agreed on extending their cooperation in the development of biomass as an alternative energy source, particularly for electric power.

Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jero Wacik, confirmed the news on Friday (25/10/2013) saying that the new biomass pact will take into active from 2014-2017, renewing former agreement that will last in 2014.

The agreement, Wacik added, is a result of “aggressive push” from the government of Finland who sees an investment opportunity by providing biomass technology assistance that is worth around three million Euros.

To Wacik, Finland Ambassador to Indonesia admitted the opportunity remembering that Indonesia has large amount of garbage that can be utilized into alternative source of energy.
